He had a good day at school today, for the most part. He did throw a marker, and did his arms in his shirt thing but the sub also made him get up and get involved in things and write on the board and he liked it.
I think it helped too that he had something to visually see and touch, that was his goal. His grandparents sent a Lego City Truck as a random present to him. And so we told him if he gets 1 more warm fuzzy, he gets it, he had 3 more points to go ( now 2 ) and he totally buckled down. I think it helped that it wasn't some abstract concept, but a real thing he could touch.

So I was in the school most of the morning and the kids were all noticing that I didn't have my glasses on. Where are they, why are your eyes looking different, etc etc etc. After they came in from the first recess they all sat down and I popped a contact lens out for them to look at. Some were grossed out that I was touching my eye, others were absolutely fascinated. Then I promised them i'd let them watch me put it back in.
Strange the things that will fascinate a kid huh?
long as i'm not near the computer, they don't seem to get too dry. Or if the heater isn't on and pumping air through the house. The sub at the class today also told me that if we drive 45 minutes towards the mountains here, that there's a park called Brightwood (or a town, something like that) that actually gets snow, because it's up around the mountains. I know what we're doing on christmas break. Making god damned snowmen in california, that's what!
